This year’s North American International Auto Show annual preview charity ball, the hottest social event in wintry Detroit. So I’m not just ditching the tried-and-true cocktail uniform. I brought her my half-formed ideas (a dramatic color that pops, maybe some sequins that dazzle) and my age-and-body driven limitations (long sleeves to cover my wiggly upper arms, something daring to guide the eyes away from my aging neck).
