Popular directory of lobbyists and reporters coming to Android, iOS, BlackBerry
LANSING – Truscott Rossman today released the first mobile app edition of the “Michigan Legislators’ Guide to Lobbyists & Reporters,” its popular directory of Capitol lobbyists, reporters and policymakers.
The release of the mobile directory, commonly known as the Lobby Guide, marks the first anniversary of Truscott Rossman, which was formed on Jan. 11, 2011, when Kelly Rossman-McKinney and John Truscott joined their award-winning communications teams into a new firm.
“One thing we’ve heard over and over again is that we should make our Lobby Guide available on smartphones and mobile devices,” said Rossman-McKinney, CEO of Truscott Rossman. “While some of us will always prefer the spiral-bound print edition, we’re thrilled to roll out our first Lobby Guide mobile app.”
The Truscott Rossman Lobby Guide mobile app is available for Google Android and Apple iOS (iPhone and iPad) devices. It has been submitted to Research in Motion and is pending final approval for BlackBerry devices.
Unlike the print edition of the Lobby Guide, which is published every two years at the beginning of each new legislative session, the mobile app is constantly updated to reflect the changing ranks of Capitol lobbyists, reporters and state policymakers. The app also includes links to selected Michigan political RSS news feeds.
“When I first started working in Lansing, my bag phone was state-of-the-art,” said Truscott, president of Truscott Rossman. “Now, every state Capitol mover and shaker has a smartphone or tablet computer. With our mobile app, they can easily access the latest information from our Lobby Guide wherever they go.”
