LANSING – State lawmakers, legislative staff and lobbyists remained full and energized during the final legislative session days of 2011, thanks to hundreds of pounds of fruit, cookies and other snacks and beverages provided by Truscott Rossman.
The hundreds of people working at the Capitol during the final days consumed more than 260 pounds of food and 52 gallons of coffee, up from the 165 pounds of food and 32 gallons of coffee last year.
“This was a busy year for Lansing lawmakers and the final legislative session days were no exception,” said Truscott Rossman CEO and Principal Kelly Rossman-McKinney. “It was fun to keep legislators, lobbyists and staff well-fueled and fully caffeinated during the long, sometimes exhausting sessions.”
This was the first Feeding Frenzy hosted by Truscott Rossman since Kelly Rossman-McKinney and John Truscott joined forces last January. The event had been a longtime tradition of Rossman-McKinney’s former firm. Food and beverages were provided during session on Wednesday, Dec. 14, and Thursday, Dec. 15. Both sessions lasted nearly 12 hours.
“We were glad to help make sure everyone stayed at the top of their game by providing much needed food and drink,” said Truscott, President and Principal of Truscott Rossman. “Special thanks to McAlvey, Merchant and Associates and Meijer for their help keeping our food and beverage station stocked.”
Attendees munched on 24 pounds of chips, more than 80 pounds of candy and cookies, 15 dozen donuts, over 130 pounds of fruit, and consumed 56 gallons of water.
