When Ford Motor Company discovered some environmental contamination during a $1.6 billion plant expansion, they looked to Truscott Rossman for guidance to help them address and mitigate the situation, especially given heightened water concerns in Michigan.
Working collaboratively with Ford’s environmental quality, legal, public and governmental relations teams, TR crafted and implemented a comprehensive strategic communications and outreach strategy that focused on transparency, accountability and action. Numerous, ongoing tools – from a hotline and an online clearinghouse with real-time updates to informational sessions with key stakeholders and government officials – were deployed to cement community and stakeholder engagement and confidence in Ford and maintain trust of the automaker and support its efforts to ensure rapid and effective response and protect the surrounding residents and environment.
